ARTS RESIDENCY

OUR COMMITMENT

A multidisciplinary arts residency in Ch. Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), a UNESCO heritage city  which encourages regional artisans, national and international artists to come together to transcend the boundaries of art, culture and creative processes to explore avant-garde ideas.

 

We encourage creating art on the theme of ecology, cultural heritage, arts-culture linkages, globalization, biodiversity, environmental sustainability, climate change, human adaptations, and social development through arts and creativity for a better world.

Bringing artists from diverse backgrounds and cultures, exposing the community to new perspectives and artistic styles. This can lead to a greater appreciation and understanding of different cultures, fostering tolerance and inclusivity.

Focus on local culture, craft, heritage by hosting artists specializing in these practices, can help preserve the local cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations.

Workshops, artist talks, and demonstrations, offering educational experiences to local schools and institutions. Exposure to professional artists and their creative processes can inspire students and educators alike.

Attract visitors and tourists, particularly by creating public art installations & events. Increased foot traffic and tourism can benefit local businesses. Economic opportunities to local artisans as local art forms get promoted on an international level.

Luna Montenegro and Adrian Fisher are poets and artists based in London, they collaborate in a fluid space of visual, physical and sonic research.

Their work investigates ideas of improvisation, participation, poetics, locality and social transformation exploring the boundaries of human and non-human existence.

As the collective ‘montenegrofisher’ they make performances, texts, videos, visual and sonic installations, images and curatorial projects worldwide.

Their work has been shown in the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) London, Southbank Centre, London, CCCB (Centro de Cultura Contemporánea) Barcelona, MAC (Museum of Contemporary Art) Santiago, Chile, Bibliothèque Nationale de France and The Venice Biennale, among many others. They have been selected for International art residencies in France, Mexico, Belgium, Italy, Chile, Norway, Switzerland and India.

Currently, the opportunities at the residency are through curated invitations. We are open to international collaborations for artists with travel and work grants. Send in your proposals for the residency with your brief interest and concept note (not exceeding 500 words), along with your detailed bio.
